Chicken Parmesan Recipe

Chicken Parmesan

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil for frying
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Place flour in a shallow dish. Beat the eggs in a second shallow dish. Mix breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, and dried basil in a third shallow dish.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast first in flour, then in beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer browned chicken to a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.
