Pork Tonkatsu Recipe

Pork Tonkatsu

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork loin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup Tonkatsu sauce
  • Sliced cabbage, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Season both sides of the pork loin steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Place flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in three separate shallow dishes.
  3. Dredge each pork loin first in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Fry the pork loin steaks until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Slice the Tonkatsu and serve with Tonkatsu sauce and sliced cabbage on the side.
