Butter Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Cooking Instructions:
- Marinate the chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, turmeric, garam masala, chili powder, and ginger garlic paste. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they are soft and golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is white on all sides.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, and salt. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix well. Simmer uncovered for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Serve with rice or naan bread.
